FAQ

What Parents Usually Want to Know

What exactly is a Career Shorts program?
A complete, guided system that helps your teen discover a direction, validate the fit, learn from a current working professional, and turn that clarity into education and long-term career plans.
Is it live or prerecorded?
Programs are live and virtual. They are not prerecorded courses. Your teen works through scheduled sessions with an experienced professional working in the career today.
Is it one-on-one or a group?
Paid Career Shorts programs are delivered primarily one-on-one. Selected discovery events or special sessions may use a small-group format.
Who are the industry professionals?
They are experienced, current working professionals—such as nurses, teachers, pilots, and experts from the other careers represented by Career Shorts. Their firsthand insight is integrated into the Career Shorts framework, fit validation, education planning, and career-acceleration process.
What ages are the programs for?
Career Shorts is designed primarily for teens ages 15–19 who are undecided or already considering a specific career.
What does my teen receive?
Depending on the program, your family leaves with tangible outputs such as a Career Reality Brief, Career Fit Profile, Career Readiness Profile, personalized Education Roadmap, mentor guidance, and Career Acceleration Plan with clear next steps.
How long does a program take?
Current programs range from approximately 3 to 10 hours, depending on whether your family chooses Career Fit Discovery, Starter, Standard, or Advanced.
What if the career is not a fit?
That can be a valuable outcome. Discovering a mismatch earlier can help your teen reconsider assumptions, identify gaps, or explore a better direction before committing significant time and tuition.
Can a parent be involved?
Yes. Career Shorts is designed to give families clearer information for the decision while keeping the teen actively involved in exploring and evaluating the career.
Why can't we just do this ourselves?
Families absolutely can learn through family friends, guidance counselors, co-op placements, and networking. Career Shorts is different because it coordinates those valuable inputs into one structured experience that combines an experienced working professional, career validation, education planning, career acceleration, personalized profiles, reports, and a practical roadmap. The value is not one conversation—it is the complete, coordinated process and the tangible outputs your family leaves with.
How much do programs cost?
Pricing varies by career and package level. Current programs start at $295 CAD, with full pricing shown on each career program page.
Are admissions, income, or employment guaranteed?
No. Career Shorts provides career discovery, validation, readiness insight, education planning, and career-acceleration strategy. It does not guarantee school admission, income, licensing, or employment outcomes.
Can my teen explore more than one career?
Yes. If your teen is comparing multiple paths, they can explore different Career Shorts programs to build a clearer basis for comparison.
